Cell Phone Radiation Lawsuit: Brain Tumor from Years of Cell Phone Use

Cell Phone Radiation Lawsuit Alleges Illinois Man Developed Brain Tumor Following Years of Heavy Cell Phone Use

PRWeb – Sat, Nov 17, 2012

Bernstein Liebhard LLP has filed a cell phone radiation lawsuit on behalf of an Illinois man who developed a brain tumor in his left frontal lobe, allegedly due to years of extensive cell phone use.

An Illinois man and his wife have filed a cell phone radiation lawsuit against several mobile phone manufacturers, after the man was diagnosed with a brain tumor in his left frontal lobe, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. The lawsuit, which was filed on November 6, 2012 in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, alleges that years of heavy mobile phone use and exposure to cell phone radiation, caused the Plaintiff’s brain tumor. (Case No. 0008533-12)

“As evidence of the harmful side effects of cell phone radiation continues to accumulate, we expect that more consumers will pursue similar claims in the near future,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm which is  currently part of a small legal consortium representing individuals in cell phone radiation lawsuits.

Cell Phone Radiation Lawsuit Allegations

The lawsuit alleges the adverse health effects suffered by the Plaintiff are a direct consequence of his exposure to the radiofrequency (RF) radiation emitted by the cell phones he used. The complaint further alleges the Defendants were aware of numerous studies and experiments demonstrating the health hazards of RF radiation that date back to the late 1940s, yet continue to maintain to the public at large that cell phones are absolutely safe. The studies cited by the complaint include the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Interphone study, which found that use of cell phones for a 10 year period can increase the risk of developing brain tumors called glioblastomas by 40% in adults. Following the publication of the Interphone study, the WHO’s International Agency on Research for Cancer classified cell phone radiation as possibly carcinogenic to humans.*

In a landmark ruling announced last month, the Italian Supreme Court ruled cell phone radiation can cause brain cancer, finding a causal link between a man’s heavy cell phone use and a brain tumor he developed.** The judicial finding that cell phones can cause brain cancer is backed by a growing body of research that suggests long-term exposure to cell phone radiation increases the risk for brain tumors, according to Bernstein Liebhard LLP.

Individuals who suffered brain tumors or other cancers that may have been caused by cell phones, including glioma, acoustic neuroma, meningioma, or tumors of the salivary glands, may be eligible to file a cell phone radiation lawsuit seeking compensation for their injuries.    For more information about the dangers of cell phone radiation, please visit Bernstein Liebhard LLP’s website, or call  877-779-1414 to speak with an attorney today.

  1. Headache is the common symptom that is found with 46% of patients with tumors. Still there is no specific reason is detected for the occurrence of brain tumor. Only a mild headache of occasional period is not a reason to brain tumor. You should consult to your doctor if your headaches are different than you’ve ever had, with nausea or vomiting. In these diseases if you feel discomfort in reaching up to the bathroom then it is matter to tell your doctor.^

  2. My husband passed away in 2012 with Glioblastoma at the age of 46. Being a truck driver he used cell phones constantly. His tumor was in the frontal temporal left right side of the brain. He was left handed and this is the side where he always held the phone. As the tumor grew it passed behind his right ear. I do believe this was from cell use. The tumor was found as an astrocytoma II at the end of 2008 because of a seizure and rapidly progressed to the Glioblastoma. Three scans he had in prior years starting in 2002 showed the tumor but was misdiagnosed as a stroke and called an infarction. He didn’t stand a chance. Even though I could prove negligence on the part of the doctors who saw the prior scans they found that there were no damages because it could not be proven that earlier treatment would have benefited him.The attorney never took it to court because for every doctor I could bring that would say earlier treatment could have helped they could find doctors that would say the apposite. By the way their definition of damages is all about money. Forget the part that if he had known he had cancer he would have used the time he had in many different ways and he would have never let his life insurance go unpaid during a strike at work. He would have cherished every moment of everyday with his children and he would have known the reasons behind the headaches and tiredness he felt. Also he only had small seizures at night but everyone just thought he was having bad dreams and did weird things in his sleep. He went to the doctor many times for numbness and headaches and they labeled him as someone who was looking for drugs.
