We the undersigned, more than 180 scientists and doctors from 36 countries, recommend a moratorium on the roll-out of the fifth generation, 5G, for telecommunication until potential hazards for human health and the environment have been fully investigated by scientists independent from industry. 5G will substantially increase exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) on top of the 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, etc. for telecommunications already in place. RF-EMF has been proven to be harmful for humans and the environment.
5G leads to massive increase of mandatory exposure to wireless radiation
5G technology is effective only over short distance. It is poorly transmitted through solid material. Many new antennas will be required and full-scale implementation will result in antennas every 10 to 12 houses in urban areas, thus massively increasing mandatory exposure.
With ”the ever more extensive use of wireless technologies,” nobody can avoid to be exposed. Because on top of the increased number of 5G-transmitters (even within housing, shops and in hospitals) according to estimates, ”10 to 20 billion connections” (to refrigerators, washing machines, surveillance cameras, self-driving cars and buses, etc.) will be parts of the Internet of Things. All these together can cause a substantial increase in the total, long term RF-EMF exposure to all EU citizens.
Harmful effects of RF-EMF exposure are already proven
Over 230 scientists from more than 40 countries have expressed their “serious concerns” regarding the ubiquitous and increasing exposure to EMF generated by electric and wireless devices already before the additional 5G roll-out. They refer to the fact that ”numerous recent scientific publications have shown that EMF affects living organisms at levels well below most international and national guidelines”. Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans. Damage goes well beyond the human race, as there is growing evidence of harmful effects to both plants and animals.
After the scientists’ appeal was written in 2015 additional research has convincingly confirmed serious health risks from RF-EMF fields from wireless technology. The world’s largest study (25 million US dollar) National Toxicology Program (NTP), shows statistically significant increase in the incidence of brain and heart cancer in animals exposed to EMF below the ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) guidelines followed by most countries. These results support results in human epidemiological studies on RF radiation and brain tumour risk. A large number of peer-reviewed scientific reports demonstrate harm to human health from EMFs.
We have uncovered and refined a revolutionary new process: enforcing the individual commercial liability of corporate executives and government representatives who are causing egregious harm.
We are on a mission to make this Liability Action available and easy for everyone. The first focus is solving the smart meter problem.

“Everything Is Alright” by Joey Fehrenbach – http://joeyfehrenbach.com/
AUSTIN, Texas (March 15, 2017) – A bill introduced in the Texas House would allow utility customers to opt out of installing “smart meter” technology on their homes and businesses. Passage of this bill would allow Texans to protect their own privacy, and it would take a step toward blocking a federal program in effect.
Rep. Ken King (R-Canadian) introduced House Bill 3656 (HB3656) on March 9. The legislation would allow Texas utility customers to opt out of any utility company smart meter program with no charge or penalty.
Smart meters monitor home energy usage in minute detail in real time. The devices transmit data to the utility company were it gets stored in databases. Anybody with access to the data can download it for analysts. Without specific criteria limiting access to the data, these devices create significant privacy issues. Smart meters can also be used to remotely limit power usage during peak hours.
Under the proposed law, utility companies would be required to inform customers in writing that they have the right to decline installation of a smart meter. The company would not be allowed to charge the customer for for declining installation, nor for the cost of traditional metering service. HB3656 also includes provisions giving utility customers the right to have an existing smart meter removed. The company would be allowed to charge the customer the cost of installing the replacement traditional meter.
The proliferation of smart meters creates significant privacy concerns. The data collected can tell anybody who holds it a great deal about what goes on inside a home. It can reveal when residents are at home, asleep or on vacation. It can also pinpoint “unusual” energy use, and could someday serve to help enforce “energy usage” regulations. The ACLU summarized the privacy issues surrounding smart meters in a recent report.
“The temptation to use the information that will be collected from customers for something other than managing electrical loads will be strong – as it has been for cell phone tracking data and GPS information. Police may want to know your general comings and goings or whether you’re growing marijuana in your basement under grow lights. Advertisers will want the information to sell you a new washing machine to replace the energy hog you got as a wedding present 20 years ago. Information flowing in a smart grid will become more and more ‘granular’ as the system develops.”
The privacy issues aren’t merely theoretical. According to information obtained by the California ACLU, utility companies in the state have disclosed information gathered by smart meters on thousands of customers. San Diego Gas and Electric alone disclosed data on more than 4,000 customers. The vast majority of disclosures were in response to subpoenas by government agencies “often in drug enforcement cases or efforts to find specific individuals,” according to SFGate.
“Mark Toney, executive director of the Utility Reform Network watchdog group, said the sheer number of data disclosures made by SDG&E raised the possibility that government agencies wanted to sift through large amounts of data looking for patterns, rather than conducting targeted investigations.”
Refusing to allow a smart meter on your property is the only sure-fire way to ensure your energy use data won’t fall into the hands of government agents or private marketers, or end up stored in some kind of government database. Passage of HB3656 would make opting out a legal option for Texans and give them control over their own privacy.

LANSING, MICH. – Michigan homeowners may be able to reject ‘smart meters’ at no charge under a bipartisan legislation introduced by Rep. Gary Glenn, R-Midland.
The bill will be the subject of a public hearing this Tuesday in the House Energy Policy Committee, which Glenn chairs, and again on March 7.
“Republicans and Democrats alike agree it’s all about individual freedom of choice and homeowners’ private property rights,” Glenn said. Among the 17 co-sponsors are four Democrats, including Rep. Rose Mary Robinson of Detroit.
“Homeowners should have the ultimate authority to decide what technology is installed in their homes – not utilities whose government-protected monopoly prevents homeowners from choosing a competing electricity provider,” Glenn continued._______ Continue reading

Retired Canadian Army captain Jerry Flynn, who spent 22 years in its “Electronic Warfare” unit, is beseeching Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Canadian Medical Assn. president Dr. Chris Simpson to stop “suppressing the truth” about the dangers of Wi-Fi, Cellphones, computers, cell towers and other forms of radiation.
The Canadian government is “blind to the decades-old corruption that is ongoing within the Minister of Health’s radiation protection bureau,” he said. “Tragically, for all persons living in Canada, our provincial governments have shown themselves to be willfully silent to those of us who have made many attempts to alert them over the years.”
It has long been known that Smart meters communicate by means of microwave frequencies. Recent progress in understanding the phenomenon reveals the important role of not only the high frequency ranges, but also in the range of additional frequencies which are transmitted in the lower 2 to 50 kilohertz range. “Numerous studies have shown repeatedly that those very same frequencies disrupt the human nervous system. Indeed, “nerve block” is the phrase used in the studies to describe what occurs.”
This video presents close up first hand measurement of the different frequencies in play on actual smat meters in operation:
This video shares recent history of growing concern with the underlying economic and social repercussions from this massive lucrative scheme, with lots of hidden motives, risks, and costs.

Fires prompt full recall of Sensus Meters & investigation of why testing never happened
The removal of the smart meters over the next six to nine months will cost around $50 million, according to SaskPower. (Initial estimates were at $15 million)
REGINA – SaskPower has announced that they are removing all the smart meters that were installed in the province.
The minister responsible for SaskPower Bill Boyd said the utility company will be taking out all 105,000 smart meters around Saskatchewan.
“I think the concerns about safety are paramount here, the concerns are significant enough, anytime families are at risk in Saskatchewan, actions have to be taken and that’s why we’ve directed SaskPower accordingly,” said Minister Boyd.
(Ed. note: As mentioned in video, a similar recall is taking place in Oregon, replacing Sensus meters installed by PG&E. Story here: http://www.oregonlive.com/business/index.ssf/2014/07/pge_replacing_some_electricity.html)
The removal of the smart meters over the next six to nine months will cost around $50 million, according to SaskPower.
“We view it as similar to a recall situation and the people of Saskatchewan shouldn’t be responsible for the costs of this and we’ll do everything we can to recover those costs,” said Boyd.
Boyd will also be reviewing why the new meters weren’t properly studied or tested before they were installed in homes.
“I don’t know whether there was enough testing done. We’ll certainly be conducting, along with SaskPower, an internal review of the procurement procedures around this around the safety concerns people had,” added Boyd.
“We want to determine when these were originally ordered, if there were safety concerns known at that point in time, so we have a lot of questions we’re going to be discussing with SaskPower about how this came to be.”
Earlier this month SaskPower temporarily suspended its installation of smart meters around the province after half a dozen caught fire.

Northeast Utilities (NU) operates New England’s largest utility system serving more than 3.6 million electric and natural gas customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
In a written submittal filed with the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, Northeast Utilities was highly critical of a proposed state plan that would require utilization of “advanced metering” or smart meters within the state of Massachusetts as part of an electrical grid modernization plan. In fact, the comments are quite remarkable in that they appear to reflect reality without undue political spin or bias. Let us hope that other utilities, public utility commissions, and politicians everywhere can soon come to similar unbiased conclusions that are based upon economic realities and reflect consumers’ and societal best interests.
What is presented below is a summary of key points made by Northeast Utilities in Continue reading

(Following is edited for length, from http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/12/19/cell-phone-use.aspx?e_)
Mounting research raises tremendously important questions about the long-term safety of saturating ourselves in electromagnetic frequencies. As a result, at least a dozen countries around the world have begun to adopt a precautionary approach toward cell phone use and other wireless technologies.
The World Health Organization (WHO)/International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” (Class 2B) in May of 2011.11 The classification—which also covers lead and chloroform—came in part in response to research showing wireless telephones increase the risk for brain cancer.
Since then, additional research has further strengthened the link between cancer and radiofrequency (RF) fields. According to Dr. Anthony Miller, who was on the IARC committee, the accumulated evidence is now strong enough to suggest RF fields really should be classified as a 2A or “probable carcinogen.”
With Whom Does Responsibility of Safety Reside?
Alas, in the US, both the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) have chosen to ignore the evidence of health risks associated with cell phones. As noted by the Environmental Working Group in a recent guide4 to safer cell phone usage:
“The FCC adopted radiation standards developed by the cell phone industry 17 years ago. These standards, still in use, allow 20 times more radiation to reach the head than the rest of the body. They do not Continue reading
Earlier this week, an article was posted at this website quoting a doctor who indicated that Wireless Smart Meters Can Cause Illness. This article made reference to a 92-case series documenting health effects believed to be caused by exposure to smart meter emissions.
A couple of days subsequent to the report on this website, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine released a new document entitled, “Wireless Smart Meter Case Studies,” which discloses the following information:
AAEM physicians and physicians world-wide are treating patients who report adverse, debilitating health effects following the installation of smart meters, which emit electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) and radiofrequencies (RF).
The peer reviewed, scientific literature demonstrates the correlation between EMF/RF exposure and neurological, cardiac, and pulmonary disease as well as reproductive disorders, immune dysfunction, cancer and other health conditions. The evidence is irrefutable. Despite this research, claims have been made that Continue reading
Acute and chronic exposure to RF (radio-frequency) and MW (microwave) radiation can, even at very low power-densities, lead to not only the negative health effects shown in this video, but calcium ion damage in cells, endothelial cell dysfunction, nitric oxide depletion, oxidative stress, melatonin disruption, blood-brain-barrier leakage, DNA damage, sperm damage and more. Glucose metabolism changes within the brain are observable after just minutes of cell phone use.
The mechanisms for damage from non-thermal, non-ionising radiation exposure are now becoming clear.
“It’s positively terrifying to look back at it knowing what we know now. It makes you think twice about carrying that phone so close to your baby-makin’ parts. But hey, we’ve all gotta die sometime. Let’s just hope we can still reproduce before we do.”
Have you heard about these newfangled X-ray machines? We should put ’em in everything! We should literally use them to X-ray people’s feet to fit them for shoes. It sounds like a retro-parody cartoon, but it’s not. It’s what actually happened in the 1940s.
Smallish wooden podiums housing radioactive material for casual-foot X-rays, shoe-fitting fluoroscopes stared showing up in shoe stores around the 1920s. At first the X-ray wielding boxes were seen largely as gimmicks, but eventually they came to be respected as valuable shoe-fitting tools, instead of feared as the leaky cancer boxes they actually were. Into the 1950s the retrospectively horrifying nature of the things was mostly being brushed off, even in scientific studies:
“The shoe-fitting fluoroscope is not an instrument with obviously hazardous potentialities. It has long been used and no direct clinical evidence of harm has yet been established.” Continue reading
The Alaska Supreme Court (Court) upheld the decision of the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Board (Board) awarding an AT&T equipment installer 100% disability as a result of his workplace electromagnetic field exposure to radiofrequency (RF) radiation at levels slightly above the FCC RF limit. The award was based on the psychological and cognitive effects of RF radiation and over-exposure. This decision is significant because the FCC RF limit is designed to keep people from being heated and ignores evidence of other adverse biological effects at much lower levels.
The RF radiation exposure level in question was well below the FCC’s recognized level of “thermal” harm. The FCC contends that there are no scientifically established harmful health effects below the thermal threshold. The Board decision agrees with the medical experts who found adverse health effects from this RF radiation exposure which occurred above the FCC safety limit but below the thermal threshold. This decision could have a very significant financial impact on the wireless industry Continue reading

Could a smart washer and dryer help the CIA keep tabs on you?
Watch out: the CIA may soon be spying on you—through your beloved, intelligent household appliances, according to Wired.
In early March, at a meeting for the CIA’s venture capital firm In-Q-Tel, CIA Director David Petraeus reportedly noted that “smart appliances” connected to the Internet could someday be used by the CIA to track individuals. If your grocery-list-generating refrigerator knows when you’re home, the CIA could, too, by using geo-location data from your wired appliances, according to SmartPlanet.
“The current ‘Internet of PCs’ will move, of course, toward an ‘Internet of Things’—of devices of all types—50 to 100 billion of which will be connected to the Internet by 2020,”Petraeus said in his speech. He continued:
Items of interest will be located, identified, monitored, and remotely controlled through technologies such as radio-frequency identification, sensor networks, tiny embedded servers, and energy harvesters—all connected to the next-generation Internet using abundant, low cost, and high-power computing—the latter now going to cloud computing, in many areas greater and greater supercomputing, and, ultimately, heading to quantum computing.

Researchers from England, Holland and Sweden have shown great interest for the biology experiment made by the five girls. Photo: By the girls from 9.b By Mathias Bohn
Take 400 cress seeds and distribute them in 12 trays. Then you place 6 trays in 2 rooms with the same temperature. You give the trays the same amount of water and sunlight over 12 days and remember that the 6 trays in one room is also exposed to mobile radiation.
This is the recipe for a biology experiment så genious, that it has created international sensation among recognised biologists and radiation experts. Behind the experiment are five girls from 9.b in Hjallerup school in northern Jutland in Denmark, and it all started with these girls noticing that they had problems with focus and concentration in the school:
– We all felt that we had experienced concentration problems in the school if we had been sleeping with the mobile phone next to our heads and sometimes it was difficult to sleep, explains Lea Nielsen, who is one of the ‘sprouting’ researchers.
The school did not have equipment to test the effect of mobile radiation on themselves, but that was probably good as the girls had to Continue reading
A major telecom company patented a system to reduce electrosmog from
wireless local networks to reduce cancer risks associated with non-thermal
exposures to microwave radiation. The industry has known the risks for many
years but has failed to act. This patent application acknowledged the cancer
risk from exposure to wireless radiation eight years before the WHO*s
International Agency for Research on Cancer declared that radiofrequency energy,
including cell phone and Wi-Fi radiation, is a possible carcinogen to
humans, like DDT and lead.
Now as a matter of public record, this patent application demonstrates that the Wireless Industry acknowledged, and has known for many years the potential health risks and carcinogenic influence, from use of its technology, for at least the past 10 years. Yet the Industry continues to fight efforts to educate the public about these risks and blocks effective regulation of wireless radiation in the U.S. and in other countries.

“Electric utilities have spent hundreds of millions of dollars on smart meters in an attempt to shave peak loads. Using demand charges and “time of use” meters, utilities have been trying to modify consumer behavior. Yet studies continue to reveal that even with proper consumer education about smart meter benefits, utilities have only cut peak loads by 6-8 percent using these meters. For peak shaving, distributed energy storage can be more effective because it does not require consumer involvement. Simply deploying battery storage within communities and at substations can achieve the same (or better) effect as changing consumer behavior, while giving utilities tighter resource control.” (Source: Whitepaper S&C Electric)
Utilities can leverage storage to shift load and generation patterns, making better use of grid assets, boosting grid reliability, and cutting carbon emissions — all without investing in changing consumers’ hard-wired habits. As battery technology costs continue falling, Continue reading

Editor’s Note: This is the final article in a series about smart meters and the technology that critics fear could allow utilities and government to monitor how and for what reason energy is used inside your home. The first article explained the “other purposes” government has for the technology. The second article discussed the dangers from meters that explode or ignite.
Smart meters have been associated with privacy issues, data security issues, and fire safety issues, but the biggest danger from RF (radio frequency) meters may be from the signals they give off while reporting their data to the central utility office.

Martin Blank, Ph.D.: Dr. Blank is Associate Professor, Columbia University, Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics; Author of the Bioinitiative Report’s section on Stress Proteins; Editor, Pathophysiology’s special issue on Electromagnetic Fields, March 2009; and Past President, Bioelectromagnetics Society.
“What is the evidence that radiation from wireless and EMF technologies is disturbing biology and impacting our genetic material? How are the effects on DNA impacting our present functioning as well as potentially jeopardizing the health of future generations? What mechanisms can explain the biological effects and links to various conditions? Learn why shielding ourselves from this radiation is essential to preserve optimal functioning and fertility, while legal and technological efforts to assure safer communications technologies are pursued.” Martin Blank, Ph.D.
The Austrian Medical Association has put out initial guidelines for treatment of EMF related health problems. The guidelines are a very good beginning and should be educational for physicians. We encourage you to give them to your physicians. Those of you who are physicians might find them useful, along with references from Zory Glaser’s Archive at www.magdahavas.com and other much more recent research, to help get your own medical associations to start examining how patients visiting specialists in your own speciality might be helped by similar treatment guidelines.
International Doctors´ Appeal 2012
Ten years ago, physicians of the Freiburg Appeal called on their colleagues, the public, and the politicians and health officials in charge because they were deeply concerned about the health of their fellow citizens. This Doctors´Appeal, in which they strongly warned about the dangers of wireless radiation, was translated into many languages and supported by more than 1000 physicians and more than 36,000 people worldwide.
Over the past decade, the evidence of serious risks has been increasing and accumulating worldwide. As physicians, we observe a clear increase in health symptoms when radio-frequency exposure levels increase with Continue reading

OTTAWA – Schools should not install wireless Internet systems because the technology is linked to learning disabilities, headaches and immune system deficiencies, according to an international association of physicians.
The American Academy of Environmental Medicine, which is holding a conference on the brain and nervous system this week in Florida, says safer alternatives should be used instead of Wi-Fi.
“Adverse health effects from wireless radio frequency fields, such as learning disabilities, altered immune responses, and headaches, clearly exist and are well documented in the scientific literature,” the academy said in a statement on its website. “Safer technology, such as use of hard-wiring, is strongly recommended in schools.”
The American Academy of Pediatrics has also called for a review of government safety limits for electromagnetic radiation because of the growing number of wireless devices that are part of children’s lives.
In 2011, the World Health Organization classified radiation emitted by wireless devices, including cellphones and wireless Internet, as possibly carcinogenic. Despite this classification, Health Canada still says Wi-Fi is safe.
Dr. Jennifer Armstrong, an Ottawa-based doctor who works an environmental health clinic, says it is important to practise precaution, especially with kids. She is the former president of AAEM.
“They’re more vulnerable. Their skulls are smaller, their brains are still developing. We don’t want to start treating any permanent damage in these kids,” Armstrong said. “If they’re going to have trouble learning while at school or if they’re developing immune system problems … we don’t need to contribute more to it with something we can prevent.”
Tory MP Terence Young has called for a review of Safety Code 6, the framework for industry guidelines on radiation exposure in Canada.
“My constituents believe that Safety Code 6 is outdated, and there are a number of studies that have come out in the last year that they haven’t taken into consideration,” Young said in an interview with QMI Agency.
People are fed up. Fed up with being forced to have an unwanted, intrusive device attached to their home. Fed up with utility company threats, coercion, and lies. Fed up with having their essential services disconnected or being charged a hefty fee if they don’t want to subject their families to fire risk, higher bills, privacy invasion, and health damage.
“Smart” meters are not “progress” “cost saving” or “green.” They are ruining lives, reducing service reliability and costing us dearly. The “smart grid” and its “mesh networks” are Continue reading

If you have ever wondered if your smart meter is being used to spy on you, well now there is proof that governments and private organisations are using data collected from smart meters.
Information about power usage, which can be used to identify when a home is being occupied, is being shared with third parties including government agencies, private organisations and off-shore data processing centres.
This unethical breach of privacy was discovered Continue reading
The following is a compilation of two updates from Jerry Flynn, a former Captain in the Communications Electronics Engineering Branch of the Royal Canadian Navy. Jerry studied virtually every aspect of wireless radio communications, including radio theory, antenna theory (both transmitting and receiving antennas), the ionosphere and radio propagation, solar storms and solar flares, the electromagnetic frequency spectrum – specializing in the radio frequency spectrum, electromagnetic radiation, cryptography, communications security, radar systems, and satellite systems.
“No informed person can question that microwave weapons exist or that the long term, low intensity EMR emitted by pulsed microwave devices are injurious to not just humans but to all life forms.”
– Captain Jerry Flynn (Ret.)
I am new to this whole Intervener role and am unfamiliar and not particularly comfortable with the cumbersome administrative process. One thing I do know is that this whole smart meter, meshed-grid and electromagnetic radiation (EMR) subject is of such great – even historical – importance to us all, that the public MUST be given every opportunity to see, hear and understand exactly what is going on.
I personally have Continue reading
In an incredibly ironic piece of news, Telvent, the company behind a control system designed to be used in concert with the so-called “smart grid,” recently announced that their network had been breached by hackers who “accessed project files related to a control system used in portions of the electrical grid,”according to Threat Level.
The smart grid system, which companies like Telvent (which is owned by Schneider Electric) are involved in, is currently being pushed by corporate-sponsored studies as well as major legislative efforts.
In a letter written to their customers, Telvent revealed that they realized their network had been breached on September 10, 2012.
The network wasn’t only breached; the hackers also were able to install malicious software on the company’s network.

Recent Fires in Illinois, Pennsylvania Add Urgency to Calls for Moratorium
WASHINGTON, DC- Citing thousands of instances of ‘smart’ meter fires, health problems, and violations of privacy laws, the National Campaign to Stop Smart Meters and Wireless Radiation Protection Coalition are calling for a National Day of Action on October 4th to demand an immediate moratorium on “smart meter” installations.
‘Smart’ meters are digital devices that monitor utility usage and maintain continuous two-way communication between the customer’s property and the utility company. Utilities are replacing traditional analog meters on homes and businesses all around the country as a supposed energy-saving measure.
Campaign organizers say that these energy savings are failing to materialize, and point to the need for massive new data storage facilities, Continue reading

Fairfield water department superintendent Carl Chandler shared a proposal to halt implementation of radio-read water meters and to reimburse citizens for opt-out fees for the meters Wednesday night during a Water & Sewer Utilities Committee meeting at city hall.
In addition, Chandler proposed the one-third of residents with radio-read water meters have the right to have them removed by the water department at no cost.
Chandler met with Mayor Ed Malloy and city administrator Kevin Flanagan to come to Continue reading
